Maison de Sabré

A self-initiated campaign exploring Maison de Sabré bag charms through a nostalgic portrait of summer in Tokyo.

Following Kyoka as she moves between urban streets and green spaces, the film captures the pleasure of slowing down: journaling in the shade, reading in the park, noticing flowers, observing nature and allowing time to pass without urgency. The charms become playful companions throughout her day, bringing colour and personality into these quiet everyday moments.

The PROPOSAL

The proposal was to move beyond a conventional product showcase and place the bag charms within an emotional lifestyle narrative.

Inspired by the freedom and simplicity associated with childhood summers, the campaign connects the collection’s fruit and vegetable motifs with nature, movement and the sensory memories of the season.

Through film and photography, the aim was to create a visual world that felt playful yet contemplative, presenting the charms not only as accessories, but as personal objects capable of carrying a mood, a memory and a sense of individuality.

creative direction

I wanted the campaign to feel like a distant memory of a summer afternoon.

I used a soft, distant poetry reading to blur the line between the present moment and a remembered summer.

The swing introduced movement, youth and freedom, while quieter scenes of reading, waiting and observing nature gave the film a slower rhythm.

I combined a super-wide-angle lens with intimate close-ups to place the viewer close to the model while creating a slightly distorted, dreamlike perspective. I also chose a 4:3 aspect ratio to strengthen the nostalgic feeling.

For the colour grade, I created a bold Kodak 500T-inspired film emulation, bringing more richness and pop to the colours of the charms and surrounding greenery.

The shoot had originally been planned around a bright, sunny summer atmosphere. When the weather turned overcast, I adapted the visual approach on location, using the softer light to create a more subdued and dreamlike interpretation of summer.
